From our first appointment with Jack, it was clear we were working with professionals! I was in need of some masonry work done on my home. I called several different masonry/brick laying type of businesses, but a lot of them didn’t service my area. I got very lucky when I called Nombach. Jack quickly became my go-to person. I have a busy schedule, so he allowed me to send him pictures of the things that I needed tuck pointed. He also provided me a quote fairly quickly. He was very responsive. Whenever I had questions or would give him a call, he would respond in a timely manner. It took a while for the guys to come out and do the work. I actually had to call the scheduling team (instead of them calling me) to get the work scheduled after I paid my down payment. However, once the job was scheduled, the workers came out within about a week. They did a great job, and were in and out within about 4 hours. If I’m in need of any masonry/tuck pointing repair again, I’ll definitely call Nombach.

Few accomplishments are as difficult or as satisfying as identifying an honest, competent, and competitively priced skilled trades professional. Well, hallelujah and jump for joy because I certainly hit the homeowner jackpot in finding Hans Nombach Home Exteriors! These folks are simply the best there is and I could not be happier with their superior quality service and fair pricing. When my old gutter was leaking like a sieve, I initially contacted four other roofers who never even bothered to respond to my voice mail messages. But my phone call to Hans Nombach was the solution: estimator Cliff was out to my home in no time and assessed what needed to be done, provided me with useful advice about other maintenance work that could benefit my home, and quoted me an excellent price for the work. The Nombach “dynamic duo” of Erik and Adrian were out to my quickly and installed my new gutter, gutter guards, and silvercoated my flat roof, and performed the work neatly and efficiently. I would not even consider utilizing or recommending any other exterior contractor besides Hans Nombach Home Exteriors because they are simply the very best. All in all it was a great service from start to finish, great communication and follow up after gutters were fitted on a rainy day to check they were working correctly. I will definitely be utilizing Nombach services again in the near future. They provided us the best experience when trying to find contractors.

When I purchased my home YEARS ago, they installed my new roof. I can’t remember who recommended them. When they replaced my entire roof, the crew arrived on time and work efficiently until the end of the job. At the close of the job, they cleaned everything. I did not see traces of them being at my house. My neighbors complimented how well they did the job and the clean-up.

Nombach did and outstanding job on the project work I needed done. The windows they replaced were very old looked to be the original windows when the house was built. They were prompt with their arrival time and one day the weather was bad (snow & Rain) they were not able to work outside. They called and notified me that they would not be able to work outside do to weather conditions.

Finally there’s a professional, courteous, and high quality contractor in Chicago! I called Nombach after the previous work of 2 other “5-star” roofers on Yelp failed and our roof continued to leak ($5,000 wasted). When I called Nombach I could tell immediately this was a professionally managed company. They over-communicated, showed up on time, thoroughly explained the scope of work, and (most importantly) did the job correctly so our roof no longer leaks. Don’t waste your time with cheap roofers just call Nombach and get the job done correctly the first time, on time

Nombach replaced my large scupper bucket and downspout. The old one was made of steel and had rusted through in several places. Mark from Nombach came to check things out, explained everything to me, and was patient while I asked him a bunch of other roofing/building related questions (some of which weren’t related at all to possible jobs and yet he still helped me out). The only downside was that we confirmed the job in late November but it wasn’t completed until late Feb or early March. They warned me at the time it would take 1-2 months and possibly longer. Partly just unlucky because the weather made it difficult and that was the busy time of the year for them. They were good about communication– someone called me every few weeks to let me know they hadn’t forgotten about me. When it got done, they finished it in one day as promised. I would definitely use them again for other work.

The work was completed sooner and faster than I expected. The cost was the lowest I had received. I am very pleased with the work and since they do other types of work on homes, they can expect more calls for work from this very satisfied customer.

Out of all the contractors I’ve ever dealt with for any work, these guys are the most honest. I had a leak in my roof and I had multiple estimates. Tony came out and just caulked my flashings and said that will do the job. He didn’t charge me. That saved me thousands of dollars. I have recommended them to everyone I know. If I ever need work done I will not hesitate to call them. God bless these guys.

Nombach is a very reliable company. Last year in January, I needed some flashing work done on the chimney, and they were one of the few companies who were doing this kind of work in the winter and willing to even come out for an estimate. They also gave me recommendations for future work to look out for (the house is 125+ years old), without being pushy. Fast forward ten months later, I need my roof shingled and a chimney liner. Mark was very helpful, answering all of my questions and giving tips to me as a new homeowner. The technicians who did the liner were very hardworking and professional. The roof has been delayed due to the weather, but the office workers have been dutifully calling to give updates in the meantime, which is appreciated. A reliable and responsive company.

Recently we had Nombach Home Exteriors do a chimney repair project for us. The staff and work were both excellent! I called Nombach because they had done high quality work on this house about 20 years ago and great work and good people are remembered.

My garage roof was torn off in a storm. Nombach was out the day after, surveyed the damage, covered the roof and 2 days later, laid a new rubberized rolled roof and new gutters. They did a fantastic job and completely cleaned up the area. I’d hire them again if I ever need new roof.

Hans Nombach rebuilt a badly crumbling chimney, replaced the roof, & tore down and rebuilt rear concrete steps with a small area around the stairs. The project was completed late in the year (2018) and the fresh concrete had to be covered by tarps. There was an issue with some impressions in some of the concrete due to the covering & possibly time of year. Once winter went away, there were no issues with them coming back out to redo the affected areas. They must have a lot of projects going on though as it did take a bit of time from agreeing to the work to starting the work. The work was completed quickly once they started.

I’m still awaiting service, but I was really impressed with how quickly Nombach responded to my reach out and how wonderful Mark, the estimator was. He took his time, he talked me through all the big and little details, and his suggested solutions were very reasonable and met our needs. Looking forward to working with Nombach.

The staff is unbelievablly curtious and kind. Listens to all your needs and concerns. The staff putting on the new garage siding were very professional and accompidating. I needed some repairs done to my roof. I called your company and Jack Weber came to my house to give me an estimate for the repairs. First, he went up on my roof in the rain. Second, he didn’t try to tell me my whole roof was bad. He gave me a good price on the roof repair and replacement of a skylight window. They did a great job resealing my flat roof. They had rates about the same as all the other places I got quotes from but were quicker in replying. I liked that they texted me and emailed quotes.. no getting on phone to hear one sentence or waiting for a snail mail paper quote. They took a little time to actually set up a date but it was winter time so I get it. The crew was efficient and profesional , they didn’t leave a trace of garbage or damage to my property and roof looks great!

Dealing with Nombach was an enlightening experience. I learned that repairs that I was told that needed to be done on my roof was not needed. Hiring good constructors makes me feel good. Working hand in hand with them to chip in some ideas makes me feel better. The thing I so much like about Nombach is the company’s ability to whip up good constructors. I found it quite fun relating with them.

If you think using Nombach for tuckpointing kind of weigh out, then, you my friend are not alone in your judgement. If there is anything they know how to do best, it tuckpointing. Last winter, I had them fix my chimney bricks using the technique and the job was like wow.

I had Nombach replace some gutters on my house. They presented me the option of leaf guards as well, which I ended up going with, but were not pushy about it. They were very professional, finished the job quickly, and cleaned up the site. No hidden costs or surprises. I would recommend them, and plan on using them in the future for other projects; brickwork, doors, etc.

Beautiful roof, holding up really well against the rain

Although there was an issue with the initial estimate not covering the full scope of the repairs needed, requiring a second estimate. It was caught before any work was done and they promptly informed me. They were professional every step of the way. The work was substantially complete within a day, with a follow up visit to complete the gutter work. Over the unusually rainy winter there have been no leaks or issues of workmanship since the work completion.

Crew was on time, did a great job and cleaned up all debris. They kept us posted as they went along and were done on time. The roof looks great.

Perfection throughout the whole process. From estimation with Jack Weber through completion. Crew arrived promptly at 7:15am and completed the job in one day. All debris removed and they swept the front of my home as well. I will call Nombach for any roofing needs in the future.

I called several businesses, requesting someone’s presence to assess damage to my roof from windstorms that had swept through the area, and also to give me an estimate on gutters for my garage. Everyone returned my initial call, but Nombach was the only company to show up for the appointment made. Needles to say, I was unsurprised by the professionalism of the estimator. I was also impressed with the education I received on the gutter and roofing systems used by Nombach. I decided to give them my business, and I am totally pleased and satisfied with the results. The shingle replacements are indistinguishable from the rest of the roof, which was surprising given my roofs color and age. My garage gutter system is as thoroughly and solidly built, as what was shown to me in my home. I called several businesses, requesting someone’s presence to assess damage to my roof from windstorms that had swept through the area, and also to give me an estimate on gutters for my garage. Everyone returned my initial call, but Nombach was the only company to show up for the appointment made. Needles to say, I was unsurprised by the professionalism of the estimator. When it comes to making home repairs it is a difficult task in itself. Finding a good company to do the repairs is totally an entire different undertake. I was in dire need of a roof and didn’t know of anyone who recently had roof repair on their home. The Service Manager, Bret Rhodes, contacted me and scheduled an appointment for an estimate. On the day of the appointment, Mr. Rhodes arrived with samples, information on the company’s history, and a list of homes that had roofing work completed by them along with before and after pictures. After the initial assessment of work needed to be done, he reviewed pricing and material options, which were reasonable. As I needed financing for the job, Mr. Rhodes was diligent in getting financing for me at a payment which I could afford. Initially I was given a day the work would begin; however the work was completed earlier than anticipated. On the day of repairs, the work crew was friendly and promptly began working. They cleaned up after all work was completed. I chose Nombach because of the warm, caring and personable service I received from Bret as well as the attention to my needs shown by the company. They actually cared and that meant a lot to me. I would recommend this company to anyone who is looking for a company who is honest, sincere and puts the customer needs first. Our area was hit hard from both the blizzard of 2011 and the hailstorm at the end of June. I lost a lot of shingles from the roof and developed a leak in the upstairs hallway. I really needed a new roof but I didn’t know who to call. There was a group repairing a roof down the block so I asked him to come over and give me an estimate. I almost fell over when he said $17,000 and he said why worry, your insurance will pay for it all. I said if the insurance didn’t cover the whole roof, I could never afford that. Then I remembered that my mom had had some work done on the roof in the late 90’s so I searched through her receipts (she saved everything) and I found the name Nombach Home Exteriors. What a difference! Bret came over and immediately told me that he was involved in the small repair job they had done for my mom back in 1996. He then preceded to show me a book that contained their license, approval letters from the BBB, and recommendation letters from other customers. Then he inspected the roof and agreed that it needed to be replaced. He showed me the options for the roofing shingles, explained about the 25 year warranty and explained all the extras that would be done to insure a good fit around the chimney and dormers. Because the area of repair on the right front corner of the roof was still under warranty, I was not charged for that section. The price was so reasonable, I asked what the charge would be to side the back part of the house where an open porch was enclosed years ago and needed to be redone. The price was great and I ended up with a new roof and new siding for much less than the first man wanted for a new roof alone. The work was done promptly and very professionally and they cleaned up every speck of garbage and material. I would not hesitate to have them back again to do more work or to recommend them to friends. With money so tight these days, it’s good to know someone who is honest and does good work for reasonable prices.

My dad was a customer of Nombach when he needed a roof, he has since passed away so I thought I would give them a try. They replaced my trim around my house replaced a gutter and sealed my roof under my window were I had water coming in from the rain. We hired Nombach Home Exteriors to demolish a medium sized poured cement patio and sidewalk in our backyard. The quoted price was far better than anyone in our service area and Dan knew quite a bit about the work that was ahead of us. Two had been removed previously due to other work we had done, and one was badly cracked and raised up, because of a tree root. Their salesman / estimator arrived when promised. He was VERY knowledgeable about cement and cement work overall. He had a rather large binder with a nice presentation in it that explained a lot about their company, their work and cement in general. The estimate he gave was very reasonable. The work began and finished on time with just one very reasonable delay, which they called me about. The cement work was done very well, and everything was left very clean. They even cut the offending tree root which had caused the old concrete to raise up and crack. Gutter Guards #17407. This was the second time we used Nombach for roofing repairs. We had a leak into our living room they fixed the upper downspouts, so far no leak. We also had Gutter Guards installed. My husband could not believe they were in here and out just under two hours. We like that they clean up after themselves. They guarantee their work. What we want done, they do. We will use them again if we need them.

We’ve used Nombach in the past when our roof needed re-shingling and they did a great job. So when our gutters needed to be replaced, we called Nombach. Cliff came out to take measurements and provided us with the cost which included both a senior citizens and veterans discounts (my father is the homeowner). He also brought samples and showed us the differences in the quality of the materials that they use as compared to our present gutters. They have special equipment where they built the seamless gutters on site and the crew did a excellent job in removing the old gutters/downspouts and installing the new system. The house had developed cracks in the mortar over the years and was in need of tuck pointing. On top of that there was a section of wall that was beginning to lean outward and required a reinforcement footing. Finally, the concrete of our garage floor and driveway were pitting. From initial estimate to completion Nombach did a great job. They were timely in getting us scheduled after we approved the proposal, clean and efficient in getting the work done, and demonstrated professionalism all along the way.

We were looking to get our garage roof torn off and reshingled and we got in total 4 estimates, 1 estimate was given to us by a company that never came to our house, they google mapped our garage which seemed very lazy. We talked to the other two companies about the garage, they came out and looked at the garage and never went on the garage but told us about the extensive wood damage and how it would have to be replaced. The Nombach representative came out his name was Cliff I believe and he went on the garage and said the wood has a little water staining but is OK and then gave us two different estimates, one estimate for a complete tear off and a second estimate for adding a layer of shingles over the existing layer which was cheaper. I had no idea that the adding a layer of shingles was an option, I never would have known, after that I asked my neighbor about their work, Nombach had done her roof and garage with in a new layer of shingles and it looked like a new roof and garage, I thought it was a tear off. The neighbor had the work done about two weeks before us, her grandmother had work done by Nombach about 10yrs ago and was satisfied and went with them for the grandaughters house. We looked at their house and decided to go with them, the reason we did was because the representative gave us the option of the reshingle that we would have never known about if he hadn’t been up front. That was cheaper for us but also less money for them but he was honest. Everything went well, we’re happy and would recommend Nombach to anyone else out there.

Our area was hit hard from both the blizzard of 2011 and the hailstorm at the end of June. I lost a lot of shingles from the roof and developed a leak in the upstairs hallway. I really needed a new roof but I didn’t know who to call. There was a group repairing a roof down the block so I asked him to come over and give me an estimate. I almost fell over when he said $17,000 and he said why worry, your insurance will pay for it all. I said if the insurance didn’t cover the whole roof, I could never afford that. Then I remembered that my mom had had some work done on the roof in the late 90’s so I searched through her receipts (she saved everything) and I found the name Nombach Home Exteriors. What a difference! Bret came over and immediately told me that he was involved in the small repair job they had done for my mom back in 1996. He then proceeded to show me a book that contained their license, approval letters from the BBB, and recommendation letters from other customers. Then he inspected the roof and agreed that it needed to be replaced. He showed me the options for the roofing shingles, explained about the 25 year warranty and explained all the extras that would be done to insure a good fit around the chimney and dormers. Because the area of repair on the right front corner of the roof was still under warranty, I was not charged for that section. The price was so reasonable, I asked what the charge would be to side the back part of the house where an open porch was enclosed years ago and needed to be redone. The price was great and I ended up with a new roof and new siding for much less than the first man wanted for a new roof alone. The work was done promptly and very professionally and they cleaned up every speck of garbage and material. I would not hesitate to have them back again to do more work or to recommend them to friends. With money so tight these days, it’s good to know someone who is honest and does good work for reasonable prices.
